ImgShift started from a simple frustration — why is converting an iPhone photo so hard? We built the tool we always wanted.
To make image conversion instant, private, and free for every person on earth — whether you are a student, a professional, or someone who just got an iPhone and can't open their own photos on a PC.
It started in 2024 with a simple problem. Someone took a photo on their iPhone, tried to attach it to an email on their Windows laptop, and got an error — "this file type is not supported." The file was a .heic file, Apple's default photo format since 2017.
They searched Google for "convert HEIC to JPG." They found tools that required creating an account, tools that uploaded files to unknown servers, tools covered in popups and dark patterns, and tools that simply didn't work on mobile.
ImgShift was built to fix all of that. No account. No upload. No dark patterns. Just drop your file, get your converted image, and move on with your day.
Today ImgShift supports HEIC, AVIF, SVG, and a growing list of formats — all converted instantly in your browser, with your privacy fully protected.
Your files never leave your device. We built the tool this way from day one — not as a feature, but as a principle.
No upload time, no server queues, no waiting. Conversion should be instant — and with browser-based processing, it is.
No hidden limits, no watermarks, no "you've used your free conversions" walls. ImgShift is free — and we mean it.
Drop a file, click convert, done. We resist the urge to add unnecessary features that complicate the experience.
ImgShift is built and maintained by a small team of developers and designers who care deeply about user privacy, great design, and tools that just work. We are passionate about building software that respects the people who use it — no dark patterns, no data harvesting, no nonsense.
We support ImgShift through advertising revenue from Google AdSense, which allows us to keep the tool free for everyone while continuing to improve it.
ImgShift is a zero-backend web application. Everything runs in your browser.
We display non-intrusive advertisements through Google AdSense. These ads generate enough revenue to cover our costs and keep the Service free for everyone. We carefully control the number and placement of ads to ensure they do not interfere with your experience.
We believe a useful tool should not require a subscription. If ads bother you, you are welcome to use an ad blocker — we will not put up a wall.
We are a small team and we read every message. Whether it is a bug report, a feature idea, or just a question — reach out.
